Cruising With Hollis

DESCRIPTION:
Join us on our relaxing trip to Holmes County, Ohio, one of the two largest Amish and Mennonite communities in the country.

After leaving home, our first stop is the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY where you can walk through a replica of Noah's Ark.  We spend the evening in Cincinnati.

We arrive in Holmes County, Ohio where we begin our experience with the Amish Mennonite Heritage Center.  This cultural center is a perfect place to learn about the Amish and Mennonite community and includes the Behalt - a 265 ft long cyclorama.  This amazing painting illustrates the history of the community and is one of four remaining cycloramas left in the country.  We enjoy an Amish style dinner followed by a show at the Amish Country Theater.

Spend the morning of day 3 visiting some of the Amish stores and bakeries in the area.  This afternoon we will see BEN-HUR at the Ohio Star Theater, visit the world's largest Cuckoo Clock and have another Amish style dinner.

In the morning we visit the Walnut Creek Cheese and Market before visiting one of the most unique sites in the country - the Ernst Warther Museum and & Gardens.  This museum is home to the most amazing collection of hand carved items you will ever see.

We spend the evening in Cincinnati before heading home.  But not before we visit the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY.
